 Original Lantiseptic® Skin Protectant
This unique high-lanolin formula has become the product of choice in long term care facilities for preventing and treating a variety of skin conditions. Lantiseptic Skin Protectant has been used successfully on the toughest skin problems since 1906 and has proven especially effective in dealing with diaper dermatitis, chafing and ulcer prone skin. It is intended to protect and promote the healing of skin injuries and serve as a first aid treatment.
Lantiseptic Skin Protectant is formulated to encourage the proper moisture balance of the skin, thereby supporting the body's natural healing processes. Lantiseptic contains 50% lanolin, which, with beeswax and petrolatum, produces a fine emulsion of outstanding tenacity. It is effective in treating the following conditions:
DIAPER DERMATITIS— With age, the epidermal layer of the skin, composed primarily of keratinocytes and stratum corneum, becomes dry and fragile with decreasing turgor and elasticity, predisposing the skin to irritation and breakdown. Research has shown that barrier ointments containing lanolin and petrolatum – the active ingredients in Lantiseptic – are more effective and longer-lasting in maintaining hydration and skin integrity among residents in skilled nursing homes.
ULCER-PRONE SKIN— Excellent results with Lantiseptic in the care of pressure sores stages I and II have led to its introduction for general use in nursing homes. The manner of use must be adapted to the needs of the individual patient and must be in accordance with the procedures of the nursing home. The moisturizing, emollient nature of the ointment maintains a superior environment for the healing process.
INCONTINENCE— Lantiseptic is an effective skin protectant where urine, feces or intestinal contents irritate the skin. It should be applied to clean dry skin in sufficient quantities to act as a barrier. Its emollient action will help protect the skin and speed healing.
REDDENED OR CRACKED SKIN— The soothing, moisturizing and protective properties of Lantiseptic make it well suited to the care of reddened or cracked skin. Specific applications should be adapted to the nature of the injury. Reddened skin will often clear overnight.
BURNS AND OTHER SKIN INJURIES— Lantiseptic is not intended as a primary burn therapy but its protectant and emollient actions make it a useful adjunct in the treatment of burns and other skin injuries.

 Lantiseptic® All Body Wash
Ideal for use after incontinence episodes, Lantiseptic All Body Wash is formulated to clean and deodorize without rinsing. Just spray it on and wipe clean. The All Body Wash is pH balanced to the skin and is designed to neutralize sensitive and irritated skin. Unlike soaps, which are alkaline in nature and dry out the skin, the lanolin moisturizers assure the skin will not dry after use. The All Body Wash with its soothing emollient lanolin will leave the skin soft and smooth.
INCONTINENCE CARE— For incontinence, thoroughly spray the perineum for easy removal of feces and intestinal contents as well as urine. The improved foam qualities will produce a fine hard-bead foam that is firm which helps suspend and makes it easier to remove feces and intestinal matter. Should reddened, irritated or sensitive skin be present, gently apply Lantiseptic® Skin Protectant to the cleaned area in sufficient quantity to soothe and act as a barrier from further incontinence. The Skin Protectant emollient action will help protect the skin and speed healing.
ALL BODY WASH— Suitable for non-ambulatory patients where incontinence exists. Lantiseptic All Body Wash is ideally suited and designed to wash the entire body in place on the bed including the washing of hair which may be oily, greasy and smelly. The low sudsing qualities and fragrance will dispel hair odor leaving a clean fragrance.
